Did some testing today. Confirmed that a properly bonded SSIM HR/2nd gen manifold will hold at least 23 psi. I could have pushed it further, but it didn’t seem safe without a barrier in place. It’s not pretty, but it’s strong as hell. Zero leaks. It’s been holding 20 psi steady for 10 minutes now.
For the repair, I used metal staples for plastic welding and stainless mesh to bond the manifold back together. A hot air gun was used to fuse the staples and mesh, while an old soldering iron was used initially to rejoin the cut area. The JB Weld is mostly there for moral support, lol.
